Equipment Rental Policy – Rentmaster.lk
At Rentmaster.lk, we strive to provide well-maintained and professional-grade rental equipment for photographers, videographers, and adventurers across Sri Lanka. Please read the following terms regarding equipment usage, responsibility, and procedures during and after the rental period.
1. Equipment Ownership & Usage
All rented equipment remains the exclusive property of Rentmaster.lk at all times. The Lessee (renter) has no ownership or rights to the equipment beyond the rental term.

Copyright & Content: Rentmaster.lk does not claim ownership over any images, videos, or creative content captured using our equipment.

Pre-Dispatch Testing: All equipment is thoroughly tested prior to dispatch to ensure proper functionality.

Lessee Inspection: Upon delivery, the customer must inspect the equipment for any visible damage or operational issues. Our delivery agent will wait up to 10 minutes during which you can perform a quick check. Any major or minor issues must be noted and informed immediately.

Minor Issues: Scratches on body, missing caps, etc.

Major Issues: Autofocus (AF) failure, Image Stabilization (IS) not working, shutter issues, etc.

If any such issues are found, the equipment can be returned with the delivery person. If another individual is signing for the delivery on your behalf, they are assumed to be authorized by you to carry out these checks.
It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure the rented gear is suitable for their purpose. Sub-renting or rehiring our equipment to third parties is strictly prohibited.
2. Loss or Damage (Lost/Stolen/Damaged Equipment)

The Lessee is responsible for the safe handling and care of all equipment and accessories throughout the rental period.

Modification of Equipment is not permitted. Any tampering will result in liability for repair or restoration costs.

Return Packaging: The Lessee must return the equipment in the same packaging and with all accessories provided.

A return checklist will be provided. Missing items such as lens caps, batteries, cables, or cases may incur replacement charges.

Any loss, theft, or damage must be reported to Rentmaster.lk immediately.

The Lessee will bear:

Repair costs

Daily rental fees until the equipment is fully restored or replaced

If the Lessee fails to return the equipment and is unreachable by phone or email, Rentmaster.lk reserves the right to initiate legal action and report the case to security agencies for recovery.
3. Cancellations

If a confirmed rental is cancelled within 4 working days prior to the rental start date, a cancellation fee up to the full rental amount may apply.
4. Reservations

Upon booking equipment (via website, phone, or email), Rentmaster.lk will reserve the item(s) for 24 hours.

To confirm the booking, a 50% advance payment or one day’s rental charge is required within this window.

A valid proof of identity (NIC or Passport) and Billing prof must be submitted via email before dispatch.

Failure to provide ID or respond to communication will result in automatic cancellation of the booking.
5. Delivery & Pickup
Customers have two options:

Home Delivery: We deliver equipment a day prior to the rental start date. (Time slot to be arranged in advance.)

Self Pickup: You may collect the equipment from our office by prior appointment.
Example Rental Flow:

Rental Start Date: January 10

Equipment Delivered: January 9 (Evening)

Return Due: January 11 (Morning)
6. Equipment Return

All rented equipment must be returned personally to the Rentmaster.lk office during the agreed return window.

The Lessee is fully responsible for the equipment until it is safely received and inspected by our team.
7. Payment Terms

Full payment for the rental period is required before dispatch or collection of equipment.

Payment methods include Bank Transfer, Credit/Debit Card, PayPal, Google Pay, and Apple Pay (see our Payment Methods page for more details).
8. International Usage

If you plan to take Rentmaster.lk equipment outside Sri Lanka, you must notify us in advance and gain written permission.

You are responsible for declaring the equipment to customs and bearing any applicable duties or penalties for non-compliance.
